Organizing for Complex Times: Divisionality and Modularity
Research update #3 from 'New Foundations of Platform-Ecosystem Thinking

This week we share with you the third in a series of bi-weekly research updates to keep everyone updated on our latest progress on the research plan for our 2020 White Paper.  In this third update, we explore the impacts of shifts in communication structures and flows on the scalable organizational shape, in particular in terms of patterns of organising divisionally or functionally and the role of the emerging risk factors on such organizational trends.

In other words:

  • Is a new landscape of risk pushing us to reinvent the shape of the organization?
  • What do we see in terms of organizational evolution and emergent forms of organizing?
