New Foundations of Platform-Ecosystem Thinking
A Research Plan for a New Whitepaper

Dear community,
It’s been a while that Platform Design Toolkit is around: the first public version dates back to 2013.
In the last 6 years, a lot has changed un the landscape of Platforms and Ecosystems and it's time for us to accelerate the reaching of a broader understanding.

So much is coming up with transformative technologies as AI and blockchain, and biology breakthroughs: on the other hand environmental issues are pushing a whole new set of policies and huge cultural and economic transformations look as looming.
In this issue blog post we cover a wide overview of the places where new foundations of platforms-ecosystems thinking are needed, and present our upcoming 2020 Whitepaper.

Three years after our original whitepaper, we're ready to contribute to a the community with a new research effort that will cover_ the key business and organizational model innovations, how distributed networks enable new models of governance, the formation of industry-wide coalitions, the evolution of the design process itself in a mode participatory world and how the very concepts of value and success are evolving,  for a platform organization in a changing world.
We're hosting a new webinar on February!
The ability of platform-ecosystem strategies to build inclusive economies is in the hands of social entrepreneurs across the globe. For the platform to be inclusive and generate value in an equitable way, a definition of value is needed that departs from the promise of exponential growth and return on investment.

In this Webinar, Boundaryless and Pitchworthy will explore how emerging platform-ecosystem thinking can help to shape the narrative of opportunities to generate new business models fit to create an inclusive economy for the 21st century.
