Weekly News

Dear friends,

This Sunday we celebrate The Feast of the Epiphany. (transferred from the 6th Jan) The Magi travel from the east by the leading of star and find the child Jesus with his Blessed Mother and S Joseph. They bow down to worship him and offer him gifts of Gold. Frankincense and Myrrh. This moment of worship is an 'Epiphany' because it reveals Jesus to be divine. Click here for the Scripture readings. After Mass please stay to help take down the Church Christmas Tree if you can.

Lebanon Link
During Advent we began a new link with S Joseph's Church in Beirut, to find out more click here.

Back to Basics Course
After mass on Sunday, Fr Guy will lead the Back-to-Basics course on the The Blessed Virgin Mary. Everyone is welcome but you must attend if you wish to be Baptised and/or Confirmed at Candlemas.

New Icon of S. Anne, mother of Our Lady
Ronnie McArthur was a faithful member and generous benefactor of our church until he was tragically killed in a road accident last year. Before he died he commissioned an Icon in memory of his wife Anne by the distinguished Russian artist Olga Geoghegan. This has now been placed in the south aisle next to where Ronnie and Anne used to sit and will be blessed this Sunday.

See you on Sunday
Fr James
