United Healthcare will be acquiring CNIC Health Solutions (the district’s TPA for its self-funded health plan) and Rocky Mountain Health Plans—probably by the end of the calendar year.  For the time-being, however, you can expect business as usual.  We will keep you posted as the acquisition proceeds and will notify you as soon as possible if anything relating to the district’s health plan is expected to change as a result of the acquisition.

Thank You for Your Feedback

This past May, the district asked for employee feedback relating to the district’s benefit plans. Each employee who participated in the survey was entered into a drawing and five names were selected to win a FitBit as a thank you for taking a few minutes to share your opinion.

Introducing Benefits on the Go!
As of August 1, the district has added a new benefits app which will enable you to access and print generic ID cards, quickly find benefits-related information, locate in-network medical providers and more—all in one easy-to-access site.  The app is a work-in-progress so check back often to see what’s new!

Click here for information on how to access the free app. Access by Wednesday, 8/31 and notify us at to be entered into a drawing to win a $50 Target gift card.

Weight Watchers at Work

We are pleased to again be partnering with Weight Watchers to offer the Weight Watchers at Work program. The total cost for the 12-week program is typically $156.00 but SVVSD will pay $126.00 of the cost for benefited employees. Employees will only have to contribute $30.00 for the program if they attend 9 out of the 12 weekly classes.

Diabetes Prevention Program Available

Diabetes is a condition in which your body does not properly process food, causing blood glucose (sugar) levels to rise higher than normal. Over time, high blood glucose levels may damage your eyes, kidneys, nerves or heart.  According to the Centers for Disease Control, 29 million Americans are diabetic and another 86 million Americans are pre-diabetic—that’s 1 out of 3 adults!

Classified Evaluation

Last year the Classified Meet and Confer Committee reviewed the  Classified Survey Results. Through the survey, there was clear and consistent feedback that the additional pay for extra credit did not meet its objective and it was inconsistently applied between supervisors. The committee recommended that it not be part of the evaluation process starting in the 2016-2017 school year.  Further discussion led to the committee developing a new evaluation tool that would be accessible through the internet and not Citrix.

What changes have been made to the Classified Evaluation?
