We’d Like to Help You Fulfill Those New Year’s Resolutions!

As part of the district’s commitment to employee health and wellness, we offer a wide range of wellness initiatives for our students and staff including onsite lunch-and-learns, subsidized weight loss and diabetes prevention programs, group wellness challenges and more. The district also provides free access to two highly-qualified Nurse Coaches. Click here to learn more.

New for 2017!  Effective January 10, 2017, Kaiser Permanente will have an onsite nurse coach available to consult with district employees enrolled in the district’s Kaiser Permanente health plan. Click here for additional information on how to access this exciting new resource.

We are pleased to again be partnering with Weight Watchers to offer the Weight Watchers at Work program. The total cost for the 12-week program is typically $156.00 but SVVSD will pay $126.00 of the cost for benefited employees. Eligible employees who attend at least 9 of the 12 weekly classes will only have to contribute $30.00 for the program.

Diabetes Prevention Program Available

Diabetes is a condition in which your body does not properly process food, causing blood glucose (sugar) levels to rise higher than normal. Over time, high blood glucose levels may damage your eyes, kidneys, nerves or heart.  According to the Centers for Disease Control, 29 million Americans are diabetic and another 86 million Americans are pre-diabetic—that’s 1 out of 3 adults!

Click here to read more about the district partnership with the YMCA of Boulder Valley to offer subsidized participation for benefit-eligible employees who enroll in the YMCA’s CDC-approved Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP).

Got questions about PERA? The district is hosting three PERA informational meetings this spring to help answer your questions. If you are considering retiring in the next six months or so, you might benefit from attending a Retirement Planning Seminar. Click here to view flyers.
