Fermented drinks are all the go, providing wonderful support for the gut and digestion. Switzel, also known as Shrub, is an age old drink that’s super easy to make and can be created from a variety of fruit flavours you’ll have in your home orchard, herb garden or flower garden. Learn how to make a seasonal switzel that is delicious and surprisingly good for you too. This workshop is supported by the Brisbane City Council Cultivating Community Gardens Grant.
Common Myna Humane Reduction Workshop Tuesday 20th November, 6pm - Wynnum Library FREE. Refreshments served. Bookings required. Concerned about the impact of this invasive species on our native birds? Learn how can you help control Common (Indian) Myna Bird impacts. B4C's Stefan Hattingh will explain how to identify the bird (as well as the native Noisy Miner), their behaviour, how to report sightings and how to start trapping in your own backyard. After attending you can borrow a cage (you will need to sign the Animal Welfare Protocol before starting trapping). Funded by a BCC Lord Mayor's Environment Grant.
