The Christmas season is here!

Can you believe it? Christmas is just around the corner! We're looking forward to spending this Christmas season together, so be sure to stay in the loop to find out whats happening at SJ1 this holiday season!

This Sunday we are in week two of our Christmas series called "Great Expectations". This week we're going to look at some sheepish fellows as we learn about how God spoke to the shepherds.

Our Annual Tree Lighting is taking place at 5:30pm this Sunday, December 4th. Meet up with us outside the church office to enjoy carolling, hot chocolate and family time to help bring in this season's joy!

Keep in mind that we're dovetailing our Tree Lighting with a showing of The Chosen directly after the tree. We'd love to have your whole family come warm-up inside and enjoy this opportunity together. This episode of the chosen is a Christmas one off, and is not part of the regular story line. So it's a great opportunity to jump in!

At 6pm this week we have another viewing of an episode of The Chosen. Come ready to enjoy some tailored discussion questions for the small groups afterwards as well.

Keep in mind this is a family friendly opportunity and we'll have childcare provided.

Pastor Elynie presented me with her resignation letter this week as she is feeling a call in a different direction. She has asked to be finished immediately so that her and her husband, Adam, can have time to rest and reflect on next steps.

I would like to express a sincere thank you to Pastor Elynie for all she has done here at SJ1. Would you join with me in praying for the Noseworthy family as they discover next steps in regards to ministry.

Next Monday, Dec. 5th is the next meeting for Young Adults. Looking forward to seeing you.

Meet up with Pastor Graham and Rebecca on Wednesday mornings for a Study on the book of Ephesians. Join with fellow believers for the chance to learn together and be filled by the wisdom of the scriptures.

Our next instalment of FX is just around the corner! Next Friday, December 9th we will be hosting our Next Family Xperience here at the church. This is a great night to grow together as a family, so bring the whole gang!

Every Wednesday night Pastor Martin hosts a great group of youth and helps them navigate their Faith in our fast-paced world.
