Welcome to our summer newsletter; bringing you up to date with
NHS research events and activities happening in the North West.
We've had a fruitful spring with the launch of our webinar series, social media and animation workshops, twitter chats and the completion of the current HEE Internship programme! Going forward, we are excited to launch a range of inspirational podcasts and not to forget the 'Let'sTalk Research' annual conference in Bolton on 17/18 September, 2015.
Over 150 delegates will attend the North West’s dedicated conference for NHS Research and Development at the Macron (Reebok) Stadium in Bolton on 17th & 18th September 2015. The 2 day conference will feature over 20 unique workshops, presentations, Keynote Speakers including Helen Bevan and Prof. Nicki Latham, impressive displays and a host of opportunities to talk research!
In 2014, Health Education England launched and funded the integrated clinical academic programme internships programme. Supporting the first step onto a clinical academic career pathway, the 30 day internship was open to registered Health Professionals across the Northern region covering the North West, North East and Yorkshire & Humber. Interviews were conducted in December 2014 and 15 internships were awarded. The programme was carried over the following 6 months from January to July 2015.
Kate Whitehead, a nurse from the Foundation Trust, performed a rap at the end of the final residential for the internships! A brilliant way to end the programme with an inspirational group of NHS clinicians who, over a period of 6 months, were exploring their roles in undertaking and promoting clinical research.
The 2016 programme will be launched at the end of July 2015. Click hereto request an information pack. The application process will close at the end of September 2015. Return to top
