The 2017 CIArb Irish Branch AGM and Annual lunch takes place on the 7th April 2017 in the Radisson Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin 8. All members are urged to attend this event and we look forward to meeting and networking with old friends and new.

Aside from the opportunity to catch up with and network with your peers and clients and update yourself on all the great progress being made by the Branch at a sumptuous meal (where you can also entertain and educate your own key customers on a lazy Friday afternoon) some of the main ’ no brainers’ this year are:

•       Opportunity to learn hands on about the new CIArb Irish Branch website and how to use it for your own profile and business.
•       Free advanced CPD on how to maximise traffic to you own website and optimisation of your own business ….. key digital marketing training.
•       An update on the Construction Contracts Act and a chance to speak to the author Anthony Hussey about the first book on the subject in Ireland; particularly as the first statutory Adjudications are hot out of the traps! …… and of course a chance to get a signed copy

He has consistently supported all the Branch activities and has also contributed regularly through speaking at conferences and seminars. His firm, Hussey Fraser Solicitors, has been involved in many of the largest and most contentious construction disputes which have arisen in this country in recent decades while on a personal level Mr Hussey frequently acts as arbitrator, both in this country and internationally, and he has also acted as adjudicator. Brexit and the Mediation Bill 2017

With Brexit coming Ireland needs to establish itself globally as a good place to do business and show potential new businesses that it supports alternative and flexible ways to resolve business disputes and complaints in a cost effective and timely manner, regardless of borders. The Mediation Bill, published on 13th February 2017 will greatly assist in this regard.
Mediation Clauses are now an important element of all business contracts and agreements, including international and cross border contracts and agreements.
