Where do our produce donations go?

Cul2vate continues to donate produce to those in need. Why do we do this? So we can get fresh produce to "food deserts" that exists right here in our own backyard. (Food deserts are urban neighborhoods and rural towns without ready access to fresh, healthy, affordable food.) Did you know that, according to the USDA Food Research Atlas, one in five Nashville residents lives in a food desert? 1 in 5!

This is why we continue to donate our produce to partner agencies such as OneGenAway, Nashville Food Project, Care Kitchen OutreachGraceworks, and others. We help to get fresh produce where it is needed most and to partners who also help educate people on how to cook using fresh ingredients!

We will continue to donate produce, and are now to 9000 pounds donated since May of this year.

Fall Crops Are Being Planted!

With the help of volunteers, and the due diligence of our Cul2vators and farm team, we have planted brussels sprouts, cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower. We will be adding some greens in the near future as well.

If you'd like to help plant, weed and caretake, please reach out to Jenn to sign up to work on the farm! We can especially use help during the weekdays. We look forward to seeing the new crops God has in store for us!

Growing People

Our Cul2vators continue the journey of their formal training. This month, they have had courses in personal finance, resume writing, interviewing, nutrition, and discipleship.  They have taken "field trips" to farms and helped homeless in Nashville build beds to grow vegetables as well. Jack, one of our Cul2vators, claims his favorite part of classroom time has been their study of the book The Story of God's Love for You. They have devotionals related this work each week. As we seek to provide guidance, we are continually amazed at how God teaches each and every one of us lessons during classroom sessions!

Your Support is So Crucial!

You can always support us in many ways.

Visit local restaurants such as Amerigo’s, Green Hills Grille, and Subculture Urban Cafe, and Thunderbird Wings. Make sure to thank them for buying their fresh produce from our organization!

It is also as easy as shopping at Kroger! Connect your Kroger Plus Card to our organization, and we earn money just by you buying groceries! Our organization number is 29909.

You can still help us when you shop on Amazon! Choose Cul2vate and shop via www.smile.amazon.com by clicking this link, and Amazon will donate to us with each purchase.

We can always use monetary gifts as well. We are purchasing seeds for fall and winter crops, continuing with our curriculum and classroom needs, and hiring of more Cul2vators. Any amount is appreciated and goes directly to our organization! Make a monthly recurring investment, or give a one time gift.

The Tentseekers LifeGroup from Brentwood Baptist Church came out to help on the farm this month! We think they are one of the cutest group of farmers we have seen.
