Your favorite PJs--that's podcast jockeys for those who are late to the party--have been ear to the phone, fingers to the keyboard all week.
We learned the difference between lab mice & wild mice (not for eating, don't worry). Ben Greenfield scared the sh*t out of us. You won't believe the things you are doing to lower your testosterone. Bill Maher is a downer on the healthcare system on the JRE. Oh, and more Naval .
And don't think we're letting you off the hook. We noticed you, noticing us. Like our new look? So do we. Thanks @NorthernComfort.
We heard from Robert Cottrell with David Perell that "if something doesn't start well, it almost never gets better." We hope your Monday is strong.
On to the notes!

- Tips for raising testosterone from Ben Greenfield:
- Never skip leg day
- Eat 0.55-0.8 grams of protein per pound of body weight
- Supplement with magnesium, zinc, and vitamin D3/K2
- Chronically sleep-deprived individuals tend to consume ~350 extra calories each day (David Perlmutter)
- When it comes to weight loss, exercise isn't nearly as effective as optimizing your diet (Michelle Segar)
- No healthcare system will work until people take responsibility for their health (Bill Maher)
- ~20-30 minutes of aerobic activity prior to breakfast can enhance deep sleep levels later on at night (Ben Greenfield)
- Bret Weinstein’s Nobel Prize-worthy (?) discovery: Lab mice have longer telomeres than wild mice.
- Here’s why is important: Longer telomeres delay negative drug side effects. As lab mice are frequently used for drug testing, this could potentially lead to the approval of unsafe drugs.
- Be an idea archivist (David Perell)
- Instead of always searching for new ideas, realize there’s a lot of virtue to going back in time and looking at the ideas that have been forgotten
- The moment you stop enjoying a book, movie, article— whatever it may be—DROP IT (Robert Cottrell)
- Remember: If something doesn’t start well, it almost never gets better
- Advice for early in your career from Naval Ravikant:
- “Early on, find things where you have any interest and take on accountability. Don’t worry about short-term compensation. If you dive into the edge of knowledge, which nobody knows how to solve, and solve the hard problems, people will line up behind you. The leverage will come.”
- As an employee, the knowledge and skills you gain by developing a founder mentality set you up to be a founder down the line (Naval Ravikant)
