2017 is in full swing and all of us at The Centre for Volunteering are looking forward to working with you across a range of activities and programs throughout the year.
The details for our first workshops and networking events of the year are highlighted below – kicking off with a short (one hour) webinar with Andrew Pepar aimed at sharpening your focus and steering you towards a more effective work style for the year.
I particularly want to draw your attention to a great opportunity offered in partnership with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). AICD is offering to run a short governance program especially tailored to NFP sector workers and board members. This course will set you up to meet ASIC and ACNC governance standards and anyone working at a senior level or directly with a board will significantly enhance their professional capabilities. This short course will be open to our Members at a greatly reduced rate. We are calling for Expressions of Interest as places are limited to 25 people.
Our Annual Conference on 7 June will focus on valuing volunteering and boosting our sector’s professional voice. US volunteering expert Tobi Johnson will be our keynote speaker: Tobi has 25 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector and is a renowned thought leader focused on developing and enriching volunteering in communities. A full conference schedule will be released shortly and we will be calling for speakers to submit expressions of interest for pop-up talks and foyer presentations.
Below, there are links to our Professional Development program for the first half of the year - I trust you find a course to suit your professional needs.
