March 2016

CEO's Message

We hope that you all enjoyed the Easter long weekend. The break has helped us all re-energize as we prepare for upcoming events in April and May.

April starts off with the 2016 National Volunteering Conference. From April 6 - 9 the volunteering sector will be in Canberra to learn about how we can build a sustainable future for volunteering. We'll have representatives on the ground and we will report on the highlights of the event through our social media channels.

Coinciding with the conference is NSW Youth Week, between April 8 - 17. This year's theme is "It starts with us" - focusing on how youth can engage with the community. During their annual forum on April 6, NSW Youth will discuss ways to overcome barriers for young people to volunteer and ways to make it easier to volunteer. The day will also feature a panel discussion that includes our 2015 Student Volunteer of the Year - Tegan Butts.

Early May will see National Volunteer Week, where we'll be celebrating all things volunteering. It's a great reason to take the time to recognise your volunteers. Stuck for ideas? Check out our website for some idea starters!

Another great way to show your appreciation is through the 2016 NSW Volunteer of the Year awards. The awards, now in the 10th year, continue to shine a light on volunteer efforts.  Recognise them by nominating a individual or team today.

Regards,

Gemma

Corporate Social Responsibility Survey

The Macquarie Graduate School of Management wants to better understand employees' social responsibility and the way they perceive their employer's responsibility. You can contribute your views by completing their survey, which is now open until April 30 2016.
By doing so, you'll provide important information about aspects of corporate social responsibility for the Not-For-Profit sector which will help lead to more informed decisions and actions.
