Newsletter 4
August 2016

Dear GGC friends,

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son..."

We know the words so well. They are so wonderfully true. We must be about our Father's business, telling our world this message and making disciples of all nations.

Thank you for your continued interest and prayers for me and for the development of GGC. Thanks also to those who have signed up to this newsletter recently. I am greatly encouraged!

So what's been happening and what can you pray for?

Agency Orientation Day

An invitation from OMF NSW to spend a day in their office at Epping was a wonderful opportunity to get to know and experience the workings of a mission agency. They sat me down in their meeting room and then proceeded, one by one, to talk to me about what they did, and how they fitted into their team. It was a great day!

In the last year as I've got to meet and form friendships with many mission staff I have been hugely impressed by the dedication and passion they have for our Lord Jesus and His mission of making disciples of all nations.

Please pray that I continue to learn from mission agency staff and that I be able to encourage them in their great work.

Seminars

In June-July Jill and I were in Myanmar developing our partnership with our Christian brothers and sisters there. This photo was taken during a preaching seminar I was giving.  Since coming home I have conducted seminars on church-agency relationships at the Missions Interlink National Conference and on developing a missions culture in the local church for 4th year students at Moore College. In mid-September I'm co-hosting a seminar at the SMBC Centenary missions conference. These have all been challenging and stretching.

Please pray that I prepare well and learn from these experiences, but more importantly that the outcome will be more effective workers for God's glory.

ReachOut 16

ReachOut this year saw about 600 delegates and mission staff gather for a wonderful time of inspiration and equipping. Richard Chin (AFES) and Michael Oh (Lausanne) spoke passionately from God's Word about God's mission. By God's grace a large number of people publicly indicated their commitment to pursue at least one year of cross-cultural mission service.

Please pray that God works in the hearts of everyone who attended RO to be more involved in the spread of His gospel throughout the world.

I was very thankful to the organisers for allowing me space to set up a GGC display. This proved very helpful in that I had a number of great conversations with people interested in consulting further with me about how to grow their church's mission involvement.

Please pray that, if it be God's will, these conversations result in opportunities to consult with churches.
GGC Team (Advisory Board)

The GGC Team met for the first time in May and will do so every six months. It was very profitable to have the collective wisdom of this group guide me through major matters. It was also wonderfully affirming to have them on-side with the need for and direction of GGC. I am very thankful to them.

Please pray that the GGC Team be used by God to give great advice to me and that I be a good listener!

Finally, it seems that much of the groundwork in establishing GGC has been done and that getting known by churches and engaging with them is now the main task. Please pray that this happens.

If you would like to get in touch I'd love to hear from you
