We are extremely excited to share our first 2019 I4A Social Spotlight with you this week!  Kicking off this regular feature, we are delighted to present you with The Double Roti Project from India. In their own words:

"At Double Roti we channelize the surplus food from bakeries supported by our logistics team - sponsored by TLC to various schools and orphanages who gladly welcome the mid morning or mid evening  snack. Our mission is to create an organised distributing network between the bakery and the end consumer in a safe, hygienic and fair manner thereby minimizing the wastage of food and yet providing an extra bite of food to those in need."

Thank you Double Roti Project for your inspiring work! To have your team considered for our Social Spotlight, please share a picture, brief description, or video about your project on Twitter or Facebook and use #Ideas4Action2019.

World Development Report 2019
The Changing Nature of Work

The World Bank recently launched its 2019 World Development Report, The Changing Nature of Work. The Report studies how the nature of work is changing as a result of advances in technology today. Fears that robots will take away jobs from people have dominated the discussion over the future of work, but the Report finds that this appears to be unfounded and that technology is bringing opportunity. Firms can grow rapidly thanks to digital transformation, and the Report considers how government policy should be reoriented in response to these changes, particularly in the areas of human capital investment, expanded social protection, and improved domestic resource mobilization strategies.
