With under two weeks remaining until the deadline, it is time to put the finishing touches on your 2018 Ideas for Action Competition submissions!   • I4A Africa Lagos Event: Ideas for Action Africa held another terrific event in Nigeria last week, this time in Lagos. Check out the photos below, and visit the I4A Africa site to see the phenomenal video content they put together to highlight the day.
  • I4A Competition Best Practices: Please check out our brand new I4A best practices video featuring former Bain & Company management consultant and current Harvard Business School and Kennedy School graduate student, Ned Shell. Below, Ned offers invaluable advice on how to fine tune your ideas - both to achieve the greatest success in the I4A competition, as well as reach maximum real world impact. Thank you to Ned and the I4A Africa team for putting together this wonderful resource!

From the team (Democratic Republic of the Congo): 

"The Plateau des Batéké is a vast expanse of land solicited by farmers who want to invest in the agriculture sector. Local people who have mainly only this activity as a source of income are faced with a low yield problem. Very frequently, yields are very low due to the poor nature of the soil.

In order to avoid the decline in the supply of agricultural products in the Kinshasa markets and in view of the large volume of demand for food products in Kinshasa, it is essential to adopt new techniques to facilitate the increase in the yield of agricultural areas in the vicinity of the city centre."
