February 9, 2018
Less than three weeks remain until the deadline for the 2018 Ideas for Action Competition! This past week was an extremely exciting one for the I4A network, thanks to you - the more than one thousand global innovators who make Ideas for Action so powerful. You are all a true inspiration!
This week's updates:
  • I4A Africa Idea Labs & Information Session 2 (Lagos): On February 8th, Ideas for Action Africa held another highly successful Idea Lab and Information Session in Lagos, Nigeria. We could not be more thrilled with with the response to our first two Idea Lab sessions in Africa this year, and hope to expand this initiative to other regions of Africa and the world! We have added a few pictures and quotes from the first Idea lab below.
  • I4A MENA: We have been overwhelmed and humbled by the response to our announcement to accept applications in Arabic! A massive thank you goes out to the I4A Egypt team and the World Bank Group MENA team. We are incredibly fortunate to have such passionate partners in the region.
  • Live I4A Application Heat Map in Tableau: We have just published a dashboard showing the scope of the applications to #Ideas4Action2018 to date. The dashboard updates multiple times a day so check back often to see how your country is doing. Help us promote I4A in your country or region to see the map light up!  A special shout out to our friends in Nigeria who are leading the way in submitting ideas toward achieving the 17 global goals!
From last week's Ideas4Action Africa Idea Lab and Information Session in Abuja:
“I write to appreciate the effort and professionalism demonstrated by your team in putting together the Abuja Idea Lab. I wish you more success in the Lagos session. I had no idea such a platform exists so close to me. Of course, I got so much value for the time spent, and you should know I came for the trust I have in the World Bank Group. My wish is for this programme to outlive its founders. I have also decided to be a part of the I4A team.”
