Eureka Parks & Recreation is dedicated to providing high quality of life activities and events for our residents (that’s you!)—which is why we are sending out this very special edition of the e-newsletter to inform you of a fun, fantastic, family-friendly FREE event this Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Sequoia Park.
 

Eureka Parks & Recreation’s Outdoor Recreation Program, Explore Eureka, is proudly offering a new FREE event series for the whole family—Wild Nights.

 


Explore Eureka this Thursday with the first in that series: Bugs, Bats & Owls…OH MY!


What is it?

Discover the adventure right outside you door-with colossal redwood trees, breathtaking waterfront trails and outdoor opportunities for the whole family, Eureka is a prime destination for outdoor adventure.Learn about our local nocturnal wildlife through this unique outdoor evening adventure featuring a variety of educational and interactive activity booths.
  • Transform yourself into a bug!
  • Make your own flying bat!
  • Create edible owl pellets!
  • Meet real life scientists!
  • Create your own star wheel!
Experts from Stillwater Sciences & Humboldt Wildlife Care Center will be on hand with interactive and fun presentations on bats, birds and owls. 
The evening ends with a special night hike through Sequoia Park and the chance to learn about constellations and the universe as you gaze at the stars through telescopes with Humboldt Astronomers.

This family event is completely FREE for all ages, and there is no pre-registration required.
 

Mention our secret phase at the Astronomy table and take home a free star wheel to navigate the stars and constellations from anywhere!
