What a year it has been!

Because of you, we've been able to start a rock band program and expand our art and pottery offerings. To provide music and art scholarships for ALL of our youth programming. Our building is warmer and brighter brighter with more energy-efficient lighting and heating. Come January we will have beautiful indoor and outdoor signs that include Ojibwe language translations. In fact, singer, storyteller and artist Annie Humphrey will help us celebrate on January 13 (tickets to be listed soon!)

When you support us with your dollars, time, or ideas, we are able to be there for all those who dream about making music, creating art, and, in the best of all possible ways, reaching their full potential. Thank you for helping to make dreams come true.

With gratitude and heartfelt appreciation,

Tricia, Headwaters Executive Director

Thanks to our supportive community, staff, & board

We were able to raise $1,325 in the month of November with  our Give to the Max campaign. Schmitt Music was kind enough to offer a $500 cash match AND also donated a Fender ukulele for a giveaway. Congrats to the lucky winner!
Thank you to all our supporters for your generosity throughout the year! Consider making a tax deductible donation at our website and even becoming a sustaining member before the end of the year

Headwaters Open Mic and CoffeeHouse celebrates the last month of 2022 with live music and community on December 2 at 7pm (sign up begins at 6:30pm) with featured act The Swivets.

The Swivets are Casey Rasmussen, NikkieLee Nolden, and Lisa Dixon. The group formed after NikkiLee and Lisa met while preparing to instruct at this summer's Headwaters Rock Band Bootcamp. Co-instructor Casey overheard their need for a drummer, and the rest is history! Read more here.

Held on the first Friday of most months, the Headwaters Open Mic offers a welcoming and supportive community for musicians and spoken-word performers. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to sign up for a 10 to 15 minute set. Admission is $3 per person or $7 for families.

Intro to Needle Felting with Sharon Nordrum

Headwaters Music & Arts hosts Intro to Needle Felting, a workshop for area adults led by local artist Sharon Nordrum. Needle felting is sculpting with fiber. This tactile art form began as a utilitarian method of manipulating wool and other natural fibers with its roots evidenced in many cultures around the world. Learn about both flat and more 3D sculptural needle felting in this two session workshop, held 6-8pm Monday Dec. 5 and Tuesday Dec. 6.
Participants will learn by creating a small seasonal ornament, and can opt to bring their own ornament design or choose from one of the many designs on hand. All supplies will be provided. Though some may finish a couple of projects over the course of the two night class, those who do not finish their ornament will go home with everything they need to complete their project. Read more and register.
