The band is in Europe as you’re reading this – we’ve just played the Montreux Jazz Festival, and we’re headed to Valencia and Umbria to play a couple of shows there. We’re having a blast performing, shooting videos, and promoting our latest album.

As we travel, I’m constantly reminded of how grateful I am to have a dream that motivates and challenges me.

Many years ago, I was in a different place. I had spent years pursuing a dream and had succeeded beyond my wildest expectations.

I was with a woman I loved and was in great health.

I should have been happy, but I wasn’t.

I had been working incredibly hard on a big dream that motivated me every day. But when it came true, I didn’t know what came next. And that made me restless, dissatisfied.

My life blew up.

The woman left me (can’t blame her). I took a break from my business (almost lost it). And I started searching.
Somewhere along the way, I found myself at a seminar focused on mindful living. I remember walking in filled with a little trepidation.

But then, what did I have to lose?

At the seminar, we were told to pair up with a stranger and tell each other about our dreams.

As I listened, I was reminded that I wasn’t the only one in search of meaning. And that we all need someone to listen to our ambitions and provide encouragement.

These days, I dream of becoming the best musician I can be and helping others do the same. I want to help cultivate the performance and creation of heartfelt music around the world.

It’s a big dream, one that I plan to pursue for a long time to come.

And I’m grateful to my family, friends, and fans, and to my band who support and encourage me.

What’s your current dream? Does it still thrill you?

This shot is from the top of the highest mountain in Montreux, Rochers de Nye. We shot a couple of fun videos there that we will be sharing on social media soon.
Late night jams at Montreux are a highlight of the festival. We were psyched to perform twice.
