REFLECTIONS

I have a good friend who writes symphonies. Back when he was starting out and unknown, he learned that you could get a discount from a concert hall if you were affiliated with a recognized charity. He hit upon the idea of doing a benefit for the local children's hospital in Seattle, and it worked. But he didn't realize that he would get hooked on working with the kids at the hospital.

Twenty years later, my friend is a well-known movie scorer with a Grammy to his credit, and he's done 20 original concerts in the most prominent concert venue in Seattle. And he still volunteers at the hospital, helping kids with life-threatening illnesses discover the joy of music.
The experience ended up being far more fulfilling than he ever imagined.

In the last three months, I was lucky enough to perform at seven different benefits, in some cases playing a full set, in others a single song.

I had an absolute blast each time, and helped raise money and awareness for different charities.

Both made me feel great – I love performing, and I love helping people do good in the world.

It’s the season of giving.  I hope you find ways to give that make you happy.

SPRING TOUR

Thrilled to announce that I will be joining Stephen Kellogg on tour this Spring!

There are quite a few dates announced already, with more to come. You can always find the most up to date tour information here.

If you are unfamiliar with Stephen's work, you can check out the review of his latest album in Rolling Stone.

VIDEO OF THE MONTH

Back in 2014 I shot my first music video for “Kindred Soul.”

I somehow talked our nanny at the time into dressing up as a hot dog (thanks Annabel, I owe you one!). As we get ready to shoot a video for the new album, it’s fun to reflect on how far I’ve come in my musical journey.

I still enjoyed seeing the video again, and I hope you do too.
