Christ is Risen!

Christ is Risen Indeed!

Wow! Easter 2017 was amazing! You all worked hard to make this a celebration of Christ we'll never forget, and for that we are grateful. In addition to being our first official Easter since launching as a new church, last weekend was also our most highly attended worship gathering to date. Thanks be to God!

I want to remind you of the scripture we read together in worship this past Easter: 1 Corinthians 15.1-11. (I encourage you to read it again at home!) The Apostle Paul points out for us here the central truth of Easter:

Christ died for our sins.
Christ was buried.
Christ rose on the third day.

For Paul, this led to an encounter with the Risen Christ, a meeting that transformed his life forever. He was no longer the same person he had been, for upon encountering Christ, Paul became part of God's New Creation. In the days and weeks that follow Easter Sunday, may we be people marked by the transformation of resurrection (both in our inner and outer lives) rather than people who have simply been resuscitated back to life in our old ways of being.

God's grace and peace be with you!

Rev. Jon and Amber Reeves
This Sunday we begin a new Sermon Series call Trip Hazards. We'll spend the next three weeks opening the Bible together and talking about common tripping points in life: SPEECH, THOUGHT, and COMPANY. Hope to see you on Sundays at 10a at Mary Martin Elementary (719 N Oakridge Dr)!
Come visit our church's booth this Saturday, April 22, at April Pools Day Parker County! We'll be out there from 10a-2p, so stop by and say hi! Also, let Julie know if you can stay a while to say hi to other people! This event is designed to raise community awareness and educate on water safety--

Location: Heritage Park in Weatherford
Ladies, you're invited to an overnight retreat just for you! The retreat will run from 6:30p on Friday, May 5 until about 4:00p on Saturday, May 6 down in fabulous Glen Rose (home of the Pie Peddler pie shop, by the way). Our very own Amber Reeves, Stacey Vantine, and Teresa Crouch will be leading various sessions, including teaching, worship, and guided prayer time. It will be a fantastic opportunity to connect more deeply with Christ and one another.

If you're interested in signing up, contact Stacey Vantine.

Make sure to pack like summer camp (towels and bed sheets!).
SENIOR SUNDAY | May 21, 2017

Does your family have a graduating senior (high school or college!) this year? Let Rylee know ASAP! We are planning to celebrate our 2017 graduates in worship on May 21. Mom and dad, that means you should dig out those baby pics! Also, we'll have a small table for each graduate to have a cake and decorations.
