As the dog days of summer set in, I hope you're finding plenty of ways to stay cool. Whether it's an escape to cooler mountain air or a getaway by your favorite body of water, or even just a nap with the AC blasting, I pray you find rest and peace in this season.
This past month in worship has been a POWERFUL time of examining scripture for encouragement and guidance on how to gain a deeper awareness of God's power at work in our lives. We've all been reminded how God empowers us to overcome darkness through prayer and worship. This coming Sunday, I want to invite you to join The Oaks in worship as we explore the POWER OF GLADNESS God gives to each of us.
Finally, if you've been in worship these past few months, you've probably noticed a staff change has occurred at The Oaks. Stacey Vantine, who has been so instrumental in establishing our OaksKIDS ministry, has moved to be the pastor's administrative assistant--a move that makes official much of the work Stacey has been doing all along anyway! And Tina Biffle has taken over leadership of our Elementary ages in OaksKIDS, joining Kim Brown (Early Childhood) as OaksKIDS Co-Director. If you haven't done so yet, please show a warm welcome to Tina as the newest staff member at the church, and also join me in thanking Stacey for the countless hours she has poured into OaksKIDS over the past two years.
Grace and peace,
Rev. Jon and Amber Reeves
