Did you have a good Easter? Some Easter eggs? Perhaps you took part in the Easter Egg hunt or just relaxed. What beautiful weather it was for the Easter weekend. 

It is good to have a drop of rain though, the ground was parched and all the gardeners need to keep their plants watered - especially when they are busy growing all sorts for the Plant Sale next month.

Coffee Shop hours are back to normal opening, 2pm to 5pm Mondays to Fridays, and 10am to 5pm at weekends. From Saturday 4th May, Coffee Shop will be open until 6pm on Saturdays.

Volunteers are wanted to help  in the bar for a number of private hire events in June and July on Saturdays. If you can help please contact Centre Manager Maureen Richardson,tel: 01524 811316 or email:


Bicycle postcode marking 

The police were here on 17th April to mark bicycles with postcodes. The police were very pleased with the turn out. We ended up with 35 bikes and 20 scooters being marked up. 
It's Polling Day for local elections on 2nd May.  Voting hours are from 7am to 10pm in the meeting room upstairs at The Centre.

Roller Disco is back on 11th May 2019  - tickets are now on sale

Roller Disco sold out last time so don't leave it too late to get your tickets. it's great for groups, parties, and teams. Bring your friends, relive your youth!

Sessions are 1.30pm - 3.00pm, 3.30pm - 5.00pm and 5.30pm - 7.00pm

ALL Tickets £6 (children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult)
Tickets include roller skates (size 8 juniors to 13 adults) and safety equipment.
Fancy dress is positively encouraged!

Refreshments will be on sale at the Snack Bar in the Main Hall, also from the Coffee Shop during normal opening hours. Volunteers who can help on the day will be greatly appreciated, this can be setting up, in the Snack Bar, registration and wristbands, clearing up afterwards. Please contact Maureen if you can help.

Plant Sale on Saturday, 18th May.

Halton Gardening Group are holding their sale from 10am to 12 noon. Entry adults £1, children free.
Come and stock up with plants for your garden, flower beds, vegetable beds, greenhouses, hanging baskets, tubs etc, It's an opportunity to talk to the gardeners too, get some advice and tips. 

Encourage your children to learn about growing plants and where vegetables come from, it's never too early to learn.

There will be plant stalls, raffle (tombola) and a cake stall.  Donations of cakes, prizes, and plants are very welcome. 

Tables can be booked to sell plants and garden related items, also produce like chutneys, jams and honey. To book a table, cost £10 per table. please contact Janet Theobald, email


More participants are very welcome to come and join in at the weekly class Fun and Flex.

Fun and Flex is gentle exercise for people aged 55 and over, and it's on every Wednesday from 10.30 am to 11.30 am. The cost is normally £3 per week but your first session is free! No need to book in advance – just turn up and enjoy.

Another group where new participants will be welcomed, is Walking Netball.  It's on Wednesdays from 7pm to 8pm. Walking Netball is a slower paced version of the beautiful game with adapted rules ideal for all levels of fitness. This group is aimed at people of all ages.

The cost per session is £4 for adults, and  £2 for 13yrs and over – first session free.

Sessions are held on the MUGA under floodlight and will move into the Main Hall if the weather is inclement. It's a great way to be active with a minimal risk of injury.  No prior experience necessary. Led by experienced coach Janet Winstanley, each session consists of a warm-up, fun drills and game play. See 

Note that the Board Games group are having a break for now and they will start again in October.

There are nearly 3000 retailers to choose from. Once you have made your purchase the retailer will make a donation to us at no extra cost whatsoever. 

Our next fund raising efforts will be for new chairs for the hall so all donations will be gratefully received.
