Hi <<First Name>>

The sun is shining again! Great to see all the bulbs flowering and plants popping up and coming back to life. The ginnell looks very pretty with all the wild flowers. The Gardening Group have done some lovely displays too in tubs and areas around the village.

We hope you all have a lovely Easter break. Pop in the Coffee Shop if you're around. Opening times are shown below, remember the Coffee Shop is closed on Easter Sunday.

Many of our activity groups are having a break too but there are some carrying on, see Activity Groups.

One in particular is the talk hosted by the Lancaster RSPB group group,on Wednesday 17th March at 7.30pm.  with a a well known and respected RSPB stalwart, Peter Holden MBE. Come and find out about bird migration, no booking required, just turn up. This is sure to be a popular talk so it is in the Main Hall this time,

We do get a lot of birdlife around here, it's been lovely to see and hear the birds again and I heard a bit of the dawn chorus rather early the other morning, as well as the evening songs. Down by the weir you might see a heron or a cormorant as well as the mallards and swans that regularly appear.

Bicycle postcode marking

The police will be here on 17th April from 2pm to 4pm to mark your bicycles with your postcode - for free. They will also have a number of free bicycle lights and reflectors to give away - first come, first served. They will be outside The Centre or inside if wet.

Lancaster RSPB group is holding is their next talk on Wednesday 17 April at 7.30pm.

“Birds without Borders” - An illustrated talk by Peter Holden MBE, renowned in the world of bird watching and the RSPB. He's a wildlife author who has been employed by the RSPB for many years, in fact one of their longest serving staff members. He has contributed to wildlife programmes on TV. He has authored and co-authored more than a dozen books which together sold more than a million copies.

Using some of the latest findings on bird migration and his own photographs from around the world, his talk will feature new discoveries about the amazing journeys the birds undertake. Meet in the Main Hall, entry donation of £3 or £2 for group members..
