1. Celebrate with Food Empowerment Project!

It's party time! Please join Food Empowerment Project (F.E.P.) for an afternoon celebration at our 9th-anniversary benefit. 

When: Saturday, April 30, 2016, 2 pm - 5 pm
Where: VegNews headquarters (3505 20th St, San Francisco, CA 94110)

The gathering will be fun, casual, and kid-friendly, featuring a silent auction, live music by Azuah, and delicious vegan food and drink. F.E.P. founder and Executive Director lauren Ornelas and other F.E.P. board members will be on hand to chat with you.

3. Upcoming Talk - March 31st in Los Angeles

F.E.P. founder lauren Ornelas will be participating in a panel discussion at the Compassionate Connections event at UCLA. The panel includes Aph Ko (Aphro-ism, Black Vegans Rock) and Jacqueline Adamescu (Project Intersect).  

The event is free and open to the public. Join us for what promises to be an inspiring conversation!

    The Eugene Veg Education Network (EVEN) recently interviewed lauren about her views on veganism. Read the full interview here.

    "In June, the authorities announced that they had liberated at least 48 children, ages 6 to 16, in raids near San-Pédro, a major cocoa region in the western part of Ivory Coast."

    This quote comes from a recently released Fortune magazine article detailing the persistent use of child labor in the chocolate industry in West Africa. Read about this important issue and visit our chocolate page for more information.

  • Goodbye to Our Office Assistant
    With much sadness we say farewell to our wonderful office assistant, Sarah Rice. We are thankful we will still see her and her family around the office and at events.
