1. Access to Healthy Food: Vallejo Healthy Food Fest 2018

Our third Vallejo Healthy Food Festival (VHFF) is coming up on Sunday, October 21st! At these events we celebrate the community of Vallejo, demonstrate how delicious vegan food is, and discuss how community members live with the lack of access to healthy foods every day. This year, former NFL linebacker and vegan activist David Carter will speak about his journey to veganism. Vegan Filipinx restaurant Nick’s Kitchen will provide a vegan food demonstration, and there will be plenty of vegan food for everyone prepared by VegHub’s Chef Chew.
We will be discussing the findings of our recent report on our Vallejo focus groups, and a few lucky people will even have a chance to win a crock pot!

If you’re in the Bay Area, please join us for this wonderful community event with vegan food, art, speakers, and music. Check out our Facebook event page and this video from 2016’s VHFF!

2. Help Us Reach Our Matching Goal

We are thrilled that an anonymous donor has pledged a $50,000 match for our end-of-year fundraising. These matching donations make a huge difference for us. With every donation we get, we know that money will be doubled. This helps us plan for more work to fight for vegan food justice in the year ahead. Help us make the most of this generous $50K match. Donate now to double the impact of your donation.

3. Welcome Our New Team Member!

“I’m thrilled to be part of the F.E.P. team! I’m passionate about social justice and have dedicated my life to empowering others and building community. For years I have admired F.E.P.’s ongoing work to advocate for animals, farm workers, and the environment. I’m proud to be part of an organization whose unique mission and values include supporting various causes, advocating for a more compassionate world, and empowering individuals. I’m honored to be part of such a dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and friends who devote their time to make the world a better place for all human and non-human animals.”
