It's Giving Tuesday. Oh, yes.

Hi there. Today, everyone is asking for your help. It's a lot, we know. The number of problems out there that need fixing is overwhelming. Sometimes *we* are overwhelmed by the enormity of the problem we're trying to fix. And yet we press on, like most people, because this work is imperative.

We're doing something basic that's incredibly complicated to execute. We're trying to measure—with rigor, integrity, and precision—how the criminal justice system is working on the county level. No one else is doing this work, on this level, with this degree of comprehensiveness. As we succeed—we're on our way to 20 states' worth of data by 2020—we're developing for the criminal justice system and everyone affected by it a tool for change. A way to suss out problems and channel resources intelligently. A way to spotlight what works and replicate it. A way to start saving money and improve defendant outcomes. A way, in short, forward.

We believe in this work, and hope you will consider joining our effort. If not, we hope you'll still donate to something that matters to you, today. There's no shortage of important causes out there.

Warmly,

The MFJ Team
