Wondering what's happening?

Read on for upcoming events and recent news

Langwarrin Woodlands and Northern Westernport Landcare Group (LWNWP) will be running some exciting workshops for everyone to enjoy and join in.

The workshops are designed to learn and understand about the wildlife and fauna that we are privileged to live amongst. The aim of these workshops is to, understand and adapt to how we can co habitat together. Guest speakers that specialize in wildlife and fauna, will be at each of the workshop, so bring along any examples or question that you feel will be of interest or need answers too.

LWNWP will also be running a few family friendly fundraising events, to help raise money for new programs and projects in the group.

The group is seeking expressions of interest in other topics for future workshops. Please let us know your interests on the survey.

If anyone has any ideas about workshops that they would like and fundraising ideas, please let the group know.

Calicivirus release
John has released calicivirus on his Pearcedale property with the help of Mariea.

Once the virus has spread amongst the rabbit population, several members have volunteered their time to dissect rabbits and distribute tissue samples around other properties to help the disease spread.

To date however there have been no dead bodies located to dissect.

We will keep you updated through newsletters and meetings.

Last year the committee worked tirelessly to conduct an extensive rabbit and fox control program thanks to funding from the Port Phillip and Westernport CMA Community Grants, through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Programme. Future grants
Whilst the committee and members are keen to apply for further grants to subsidise our on-ground works, we require a sub committee to manage the operations, reporting and communication with participants.
