We are all things home.

October 2019

Hello Fall! Our staff at NWWVT loves October and all that it brings. The sights and smells we associate with fall come full-swing this month with pumpkin picking, hayrides, corn mazes, and of course a little Halloween fun. With the fall, also comes prepping for cold weather. Our office is here to help you with any weatherization or energy projects, guide you with a whole home energy audit, support your goal of homeownership, and more.
We have financing options and can help you receive rebates!

BIG Rebates For Your Projects

We've said it before, but we know it takes seven times to sink in, so here it is again: Efficiency VT has increased their rebates for low to moderate households to cover 50% of your project cost up to $4,000 or for other incomes up to $2,000! If you are considering cold climate heat pumps, rebates are at an all-time high, so again, act now!

"HEAT Squad has been helping Vermonters with their weatherization projects for over nine years and these are the best rebates EVER - now is the time to act. Even if you have done work and are thinking of doing more work, now is the time, don't wait, we can help" says Melanie Paskevich, Progam Director of NWWVT.

For a limited time, those living in the Northeast Kingdom can receive an additional $1,000 bonus rebate!

HEAT Squad is here to help you coordinate your projects and get you those rebates! Take advantage of this offer before it's too late! Call (802) 438-2303 or visit www.heatsquad.org for more information.

Is homeownership really possible when you have student debt?

Homeownership With Student Debt

In the United States alone, the collective student loan debt is over $1.5 trillion and rising each year. According to the Federal Reserve, every $1,000 a person has in student debt could delay homeownership by almost 2 months.

While this high number of student debt is making it hard for many adults to purchase a home, homeownership with student debt IS POSSIBLE, especially through services offered by NWWVT! Read on to find out how:

Rural Initiatives

Rural communities across the country face unique challenges as they strive to strengthen communities and improve lives. This year NeighborWorks America co-hosted the Rural Initiatives Membership Conference and the Reclaiming Appalachia Rural Annual Meeting. This was a fantastic opportunity for Executive Director, Luddy Biddle, and Program Director, Melanie Paskevich to meet with members and rural practitioners from around the country to network and share knowledge and expertise that uplifts our communities.
