This is an update with a prayer request that was mistakenly left out of our Friday prayer email.
Many of you may remember Gaynl Trotter
(Irwin Trotter's wife, sister-in-law of Gania Trotter, she was on Cal-Pac staff years ago, active at CUMC when Irwin taught preaching at CST
). We hold Gaynl in prayer, as she was in a horrible car accident recently. We pray that Gaynl will know God's presence with her as she heals and recovers from her injuries. May she know God's healing and strength and relief from pain.
Please join me in prayer for Joan and Fred Roth, their daughter, Angie Wysocki, and their family as they care for Joan. Joan's health continues to decline. We know that God is with us in the midst of our struggles and suffering, offering us love and comfort, and we are praying that Joan, Fred, Angie, and all of their family feel God's loving and comforting presence with them.
We offer prayers of joy and celebration for Ken and Chris Bell, and their new baby, Persephone, "Perri"! Ken and Chris adopted her last month, and we share in the joy and thanksgiving that Perri's parents, Ken and Chris, and grandparents, Don and Pam Bell, and her aunt, uncle, and cousins, Mindy, Ted, Morgan, and Cyrus, feel! We pray for God's blessing upon Perri, Ken, and Chris.
We pray for all who are suffering from Covid19, and all who are caring for those with the virus. We pray that they would know God's healing presence, God's comfort and strength, and that God would restore their health and keep them healthy. We lift up all who are struggling financially, emotionally, and mentally due to "Safer at Home" orders, isolation, and job loss during the pandemic. May we all know God's loving presence with us, and may we all feel God's healing touch on our hearts, souls, and minds.
We pray for all who suffer from oppression, and violence due to the racist systems and beliefs, that God would show up and bring about righteousness and justice. We know that God is working for Good in this world, that God is working for liberation of all who are oppressed and discriminated against. Just as Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to his disciples, we know that the Holy Spirit remains with all of us as well, and may we all work with the Holy Spirit to eradicate and dismantle racism.
We pray for God's loving and healing touch to be upon all who are on our hearts and minds. We ask for God's blessing to be upon each one, upon each of you reading, and upon all of our loved ones.
If you know of anyone in the CUMC family who should be lifted up in prayer and included in a future prayer email, please contact the church office either by replying to this email, or by calling (909) 624-9021. Please be sure to have their permission to be included on the prayer list and in the prayer email.
