We learned over the weekend that dear Joan Roth
passed away on Saturday, August 15. You may know that Joan has struggled with dementia and failing health, and we learned Friday that she entered into hospice care. Many of you may remember what a gift her cooking was! She often cooked the nightly dinners for Vacation Bible School, and other large CUMC gatherings when she was healthy. She had a knack for sewing, and was an all-around gift not only to her church family, but also to all who knew her.
and her husband, Fred
, daughter, Angie Wysocki
, and grandsons, Doug and James
(and more recently, Tommy
), came to Claremont UMC in 2006. Son and daughter-in-law, Steve, Kendra Roth
, and granddaughters, Aubrey and Lainey
came to CUMC several years ago, too. We pray that Fred, Angie, Steve, all of Joan and Fred's children and their partners, grandchildren, and all who love and miss her
will know God's loving, comforting, and sustaining presence with them. May they know that God grieves with them and celebrates Joan's life with them. We will be seeking a way that we might be able to celebrate her life as her church family in the near future.
Blessings and Peace,
Claremont UMC Administrator
