Prayers for the members of Claremont UMC.

In our prayers...

"Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my supplications in your faithfulness; answer me in your righteousness." ~ Psalm 143:1
Dear Friends,
Let us join in prayer together for one another.

We lift up and pray for Pamela Williamson and Family as she mourns the unexpected death of her brother, Pete. May Pamela and all of Pete's loved ones - family and friends - know God's loving, comforting presence in their grief.

We lift up and pray for Cathy Thompson and Family as she mourns the death of her grandson, Wesley Thompson. May Cathy, along with her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Erin, and all of Wesley's loved ones - family and friends - know God's loving, comforting presence in their grief.

Please continue to pray for all who have lost loved ones in the recent months. May all who are grieving feel God's loving and comforting presence and peace that passes all understanding.

We continue to pray for God's guidance and divine intervention in the election and tallying of votes, in the decisions of our elected leaders, and with the leaders all around the world. We pray that we would all know that God is with us all in these times of anxiety and fear and worry.

We continue to pray for all who are struggling with the life changes and challenges brought on by racism and the Covid19 pandemic. We know that there are challenges to our mental health. Many of us may feel anxious, depressed, lonely, and/or fearful. May we all know that we are not alone, and may God's love and presence, and the love of family and friends continue to be felt by all of us. May we all feel God's peace, which surpasses all understanding. May we all find ways to put our full trust in God.

We pray for the children and parents who have been ruthlessly separated at our borders. May God guide us to make this right, to reunite the children with their parents and families. May God protect and be with these dear ones in the dire conditions they face.

We continue our prayers for the Black men, women, and children who are targeted by police.

We pray, too, for ALL who suffer from oppression, and violence due to the racist systems and all discriminating beliefs, that God would show up and bring about righteousness and justice. We know that God is working for Good in this world, that God is working for the liberation of all who are discriminated against and oppressed. Just as Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to his disciples, we know that the Holy Spirit remains with all of us as well, and may we all work with the Holy Spirit to eradicate and dismantle racism.

We know that many of you have loved ones struggling with various illnesses and challenges. Please know that we hold you and your loved ones in our prayers. May you see God working and feel God's love and healing presence in your lives and the lives of your loved ones.

We pray for all who are suffering from Covid19, and all who are caring for those with the virus. We pray that they would know God's healing presence, God's comfort and strength, and that God would restore their health and keep them healthy.

As we feel and face all of the darkness, may we remember, and look to the Light that shines in the darkness, and remember the darkness does NOT overcome it! Remember to look for those who reflect this true Light in the world today.

If you know of anyone in the CUMC family who should be lifted up in prayer and included in a future prayer email, please contact the church office either by replying to this email, or by calling (909) 624-9021.  Please be sure to have their permission to be included on the prayer list and in the prayer email.

We pray for God's loving and healing touch to be upon all who are on our hearts and minds.  We ask for God's blessing to be upon each one, upon each of you reading, and upon all of our loved ones.

Blessings,
Jessica Johnston
