Season of Gratitude
This Sunday, we continue our focus on gratitude for all the ways our faith community continues to worship and serve and pray together in these unprecedented times.
This week's worship has so many gifts for us to enjoy.
Perhaps we need them more than usual this week.
Here are some highlights:
A Children's Moment offered by Dena Dissmeyer and her daughter Caroline focusing on civil rights leader John Lewis and his legacy and courage.
Our psalm reflection from the Lukan Psalter this week is chanted by Rev. Dr. Dwight Vogel, primary editor of this beautiful collection.
Our anthem is sung this week by guest vocalist Joyce Theilacker of San Diego. The title is "Holy Darkness" and it is written by the same hymn composer who wrote "Here I Am, Lord."
Your worship team selected the instrumental music and congregational hymns for today several weeks ago, with the awareness that we would be in first days after the U.S. presidential election. We focused on our faith and our Wesleyan heritage.
Seek first the kingdom of God, and do all the good you can by all the means you can.
Enjoy worship and then join our Zoom fellowship after worship at about 10:30 a.m.
In prayer and care,
Reminder: The video link is live when this email arrives. Many gather at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, and others watch as early as Saturday morning. Whenever you watch, may you feel as if the sanctuary has come into your home and feel the spirit of our faith community as we worship together virtually.
