Prayers for the members of Claremont UMC.

In our prayers...

"Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my supplications in your faithfulness; answer me in your righteousness." ~ Psalm 143:1
Dear Friends,
Let us join in prayer together for one another.

We pray for Lottie and Laura Lilley-Coles. Lottie was briefly in the hospital last week. She and Laura both face multiple health challenges. We pray that they would both feel God's healing touch and loving, strengthening presence.

We continue to offer prayers for Fern Jo Kaukonen, and for Rev. Richard Bruner. We pray that they both feel God's healing and strength, and that God will provide them comfort and relief from pain.

We offer prayers of thanksgiving for the safety of Dick and Pam Bunce. We give thanks to God that they were kept safe when their brakes went out on their recent camping trip, and they are now safely home.

We offer prayers of joy and thanksgiving for a dear long-time member of CUMC, Dorothy Jones Hartzler. Dorothy celebrates her 101st birthday on Saturday, October 24. We give thanks to God for Dorothy and her life of ministry and witness, and we wish her a very happy birthday! If you would like to send Dorothy a card, reply to this email, and Jessica can get her address for you.

Please continue to pray for all who have lost loved ones in the recent months. May all who are grieving feel God's loving and comforting presence and peace that passes all understanding.

We pray, too, for all who are struggling with the life changes and challenges brought on by this pandemic, racism, and the upcoming election. We know that the isolation and staying home more than usual can be challenging to our mental health. Many of us may feel anxious, depressed, lonely, fearful. May we all know that we are not alone, and may God's love and presence and the love of family and friends continue to be felt by all of us. May we all feel God's peace, which surpasses all understanding. May we all find ways to put our full trust in God.

We continue our prayers for the Black men, women, and children who are targeted by police. We pray, too, for all who suffer from oppression, and violence due to the racist systems and all discriminating beliefs, that God would show up and bring about righteousness and justice. We know that God is working for Good in this world, that God is working for the liberation of all who are discriminated against and oppressed. Just as Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to his disciples, we know that the Holy Spirit remains with all of us as well, and may we all work with the Holy Spirit to eradicate and dismantle racism.

We know that many of you have loved ones struggling with various illnesses and challenges. Please know that we hold you and your loved ones in our prayers. May you see God working and feel God's love and healing presence in your lives and the lives of your loved ones.

We pray for all who are suffering from Covid19, and all who are caring for those with the virus. We pray that they would know God's healing presence, God's comfort and strength, and that God would restore their health and keep them healthy.

We pray for God's guidance and divine intervention in the election, in the decisions of our elected leaders, and with the leaders all around the world. We hold the people of Nigeria in prayer today, as well, as they, too, face police brutality, and as they fight for the right to peacefully protest.

As we feel and face all of the darkness, may we remember, and look to the Light that shines in the darkness, and remember the darkness does NOT overcome it!

If you know of anyone in the CUMC family who should be lifted up in prayer and included in a future prayer email, please contact the church office either by replying to this email, or by calling (909) 624-9021.  Please be sure to have their permission to be included on the prayer list and in the prayer email.

We pray for God's loving and healing touch to be upon all who are on our hearts and minds.  We ask for God's blessing to be upon each one, upon each of you reading, and upon all of our loved ones.
