Prayers for the members of Claremont UMC.

In our prayers...

"Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my supplications in your faithfulness; answer me in your righteousness." ~ Psalm 143:1
Dear Friends,
Let us join in prayer together for one another.

We hold brother and sister, Sam Arevalo, Jr. and Vanessa Arevalo, as well as Les Brewer, in our prayers. All three have tested positive for Covid19. Vanessa is hospitalized. We pray for Sam and Vanessa, and Les, and ALL, including Gene Preston, who are ill with the Coronavirus, that they will be restored to full health, that they would be comforted, and that they will know God's loving, healing, strengthening presence.

We hold Dick and Pam Bunce, their son, Rick, and granddaughter, Madeleine, in our prayers. Pam and Dick's granddaughter, Rick's daughter, Madeleine's sister, Katarina died unexpectedly last week. We pray that the whole family would know God's presence with them as they feel the grief and deep loss of Katarina. We pray for the Bunce Family to know God's love, comfort, and healing.

We pray for Laura and Lottie Lilley-Coles. Laura is no longer able to walk due to loss of cartilage in her knees. We pray for Laura that the pain she experiences would be relieved. We pray that they would find a surgeon who is able to help. And we pray for both Laura and Lottie as they care for one another. May God bring healing and comfort and strength, and may they know God's presence with them.

We continue to hold Andy and Candy Hubbard in our prayers as Andy continues to recovery from the extensive and serious back surgery he had in August. May they both be strengthened and lifted up by God. We pray for Andy's full recovery; and that both would know God's healing, comforting, and loving presence with them.

We also lift up Fern Jo Kaukonen in our prayers as she struggles with multiple health concerns. May Fern Jo, and her partner, Kae Lewis, know God's healing touch, and loving and comforting presence with them.

We pray for Kro Won, and all who are caring for those with Covid, for all who are working in the healthcare field. We pray that they would know God's healing presence, and God's comfort and strength, and that God would keep them healthy.

We hold close in prayer our sisters and brothers of Claremont UMC who are unable to connect by zoom, internet, or other ways with our worship, fellowship, mission and ministries. May all feel God's loving presence with them. May all feel the love we send to them.

We lift up the children, parents, and staff of the Preschool at Claremont United Methodist Church. May God be with the Preschool families and staff, and keep them safe and healthy.

We pray, too, for ALL who suffer from oppression, and violence due to racist systems and beliefs at work in the world, that God would show up and bring about righteousness and justice. We know that God is working for Good in this world, that God is working for the liberation of all who are discriminated against and oppressed. Just as Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to his disciples, we know that the Holy Spirit remains with all of us as well, and may we all work with the Holy Spirit to eradicate and dismantle racism.

We continue to pray for all who are struggling with the life changes and challenges brought on by racism and the Covid19 pandemic. We know that there are challenges to our mental health. Many of us may feel anxious, depressed, lonely, and/or fearful. May we all know that we are not alone, and may God's love and presence, and the love of family and friends continue to be felt by all of us. May we all feel God's peace, which surpasses all understanding. May we all find ways to put our full trust in God.

We pray for the children and parents who have been ruthlessly separated at our borders. May God guide us to make this right, to reunite the children with their parents and families. May God protect and be with these dear ones in the dire conditions they face.

As we feel and face all of the darkness, may we remember, and look to the Light that shines in the darkness, and remember the darkness does NOT overcome it! Remember to look for those who reflect this true Light in the world today.

If you know of anyone in the CUMC family who should be lifted up in prayer and included in a future prayer email, please contact the church office via email,  Please be sure to have their permission to be included on the prayer list and in the prayer email.

We pray for God's loving and healing touch to be upon all who are on our hearts and minds.  We ask for God's blessing to be upon each one, upon each of you reading, and upon all of our loved ones.
