This Sunday, our celebration of Epiphany brings us to the new year with concern, trust and hope. These quieter days offer us an opportunity to reflect on the true blessings of Christmas, and invite us to ponder the coming of Christ into our world. To what is God calling us? We hear the story of the Magi’s visit to the Christ Child and consider with them how we will respond.
This Sunday, January 3, our church staff is on a much-needed respite after the fullness of Advent and Christmas. We won’t host our weekly Zoom Fellowship today, but will resume meeting next week, January 10 at 10:30 am.
January 10 offers us other wonderful opportunities. Dr. John Cobb, long-time member of Claremont UMC, will preach for our worship.
Also on Sunday, January 10, we will begin a six-week study on Zoom of Dr. Cobb's latest book, Salvation: Jesus’s Mission and Ours. Please find more information in today’s worship bulletin, and watch for an email next week with the Zoom link for the study. We will also include the zoom link in the Where to Find worship email next week.
In prayer and care,
Rev. Martha Morales
