The West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce invites you to breakfast with MP Pam Goldsmith-Jones, Liberal MP for West Vancouver—Sunshine Coast—Sea to Sky Country (B.C.) and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs

MP Pam Goldsmith-Jones was elected in October as the Member of Parliament for West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky Country and currently acts as Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs. With her BA and MA in political science from UBC, she recently completed her MBA at SFU in Aboriginal Business and Leadership.

She is the former mayor of West Vancouver, and has run undefeated four times at the local level. She is passionate about open, accessible and fair decision making that includes us all. She’s presented at the UN on West Vancouver’s climate change plan, she’s protested the destruction of Eagleridge Bluffs including posing in a nude calendar, she was mayor during the Olympics. Pam home-schooled her three kids for six years before they went to high school and university. She’s been married to Geoff for 30 years.

Learn about the Canada-B.C. Job Grant program and how it can benefit employers wanting to train existing staff and hire new employees. Job Grant is an employer-driven, cost-sharing program that helps employers invest in training for their current or future employees. The Grant assists eligible employers to offset the cost of training, with the employer contributing one-third of the cost of training. Learn more...

Need Accounting Staff?

The Accounting Assistant Certificate Program at Capilano University is looking for employers interested in offering students of their program a practicum opportunity April 18 to 28 (full time). 
 A practicum is often a great, financially risk-free opportunity to get a sense of someone’s work if you are seeking new employees while  providing a student in our community with a great opportunity for hands-on experience with skills they have been working with in class.
The Accounting Assistant students are able to offer full cycle accounting, understanding of an accounting environment, A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations and filing, Simply Accounting, QuickBooks, and MS Office Suite 2013 (Word, PPT, Access, Intermediate Excel.  They are practiced at working with Revenue Canada, GST Remittance, and basic payroll.  This certificate program is 8 months in length.
