Disability Derbyshire Coalition for Inclusive Living (DDCIL) is looking for a volunteer to join the Board of Trustees as a Treasurer. They would be pleased to hear from someone with a background in accountancy who would be interested in fulfilling the role for both the Charity and Peoples Ability Network  (PAN). PAN is a social enterprise company existing within the body of DDCIL with the purpose of providing support funding for the DDCIL’s charitable work.
Purpose: Working in close collaboration with company personnel, to maintain an up-to-date analysis of finances in order to provide the Board of Trustees  with a simple and clear monthly statement separately for both DDCIL and PAN.

The Farming Life Centre is looking for a Macmillan Rural Health Outreach Coordinator. The job is for 21 hours per week (flexible) until 30/04/2018. Future longer term Macmillan funding to be confirmed September 2018.

There will be an information day for sight impaired people, friends and relatives, carers and people who work in Health or Social Care. You will be able to meet the team from Sight Support Derbyshire. Where they will have a variety of equipment on display, which can be demonstrated, for example talking books, new computer software, or a support group.
You will be able to talk to different people from different organisations offering advice and support. The list of partner organisations between venues varies, however, may include:
  •  Macular Society
  •  Guide Dogs for the Blind
  •  Age concern
  •  Enhanced Vision-Reading aids
  •  Deaf and Hearing Support
  •  Talking Newspapers or Books
  •  Welfare Benefits
  •  Dolphin- specialist computer software

The GSK IMPACT Awards (In partnership with The King’s Fund) reward charities doing excellent work to improve people’s heath.
  •  Up to 10 winners will receive £30,000 plus an overall winner will receive an extra £10,000
  •  Up to 10 runners-up will receive £3,000
  •  Award winners will also be offered free training and development valued at up to £6,000 and invited to join the GSK IMPACT Awards Development Network which is a three-day training programme which focuses on developing leadership skills and gaining knowledge over a large range of specialist areas.
  •  The awards are designed to recognise success and achievements for existing work so you don’t have to present a new project
  •  Open to charities that are at least three years old , working in a health-related field in the UK, with an annual income between £25,000 and £2 million
  •  Winning organisations will be visited by a photographer, have a film made and receive support with press and publicity.  They will also be presented their award at a high profile ceremony in London which provides an excellent opportunity to showcase work and raise profile.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 22 September 2017.
The LT mini bus grants programme is now open for applications from schools and organisations that cater for young people, under the age of 25 who have a physical, sensory, or learning disability.

Awards For All has now changed, it will be known as National Lottery Awards for All. The rewards are still the same (£300 to £10,000) however the program now has new outcomes, these are:
  •  bring people together and build strong relationships in and across communities
  •  improve the places and spaces that matter to communities
  •  enable more people to fulfil their potential by working to address issues at the earliest possible stage.
They advise that you let your community be involved in the design, development and delivery of what you are planning. They are also keen in supporting smaller organisations and groups and will consider your income. You can apply if your organisation is:
  •  voluntary or community organisation
  •  registered charity
  •  constituted group or club
  •  not-for-profit company or Community Interest Company
  •  social enterprise
  •  school
  •  statutory body (including town, parish and community council).
