Longer days mean more time to ride. Let's go!

Advocacy

Complete Streets Complete Meltdown
April and May were stormy at Phoenix's Street Transportation Department. Amid hard feelings and head shaking all around, all but two members of the City's Complete Streets Advisory Board resigned on May 29.
Third and Fifth Avenue Update
Major changes to these important pieces of infrastructure are in the final design phase, and we're disappointed by Street Transportation's lack of transparency in deciding not to design a two way cycle track south of Roosevelt. Join us at the public meeting June 20 and show your support for a more bikeable city.
July PSP Meeting
Bike-friendly cities don't just happen. Join your fellow bike lovers to hear the news and get involved
 July 7. Or, stream it!
Rusty Spoke Gets Famous
AZCentral and the Arizona Republic reported on PSP fan favorite Rusty Spoke Community Bicycle Collective. "The Spoke" provides resources critical to Phoenix's homeless and low income population. Check it out.
PSP Interviewed on Safe Streets
Arizona has the highest rate of pedestrian deaths in the nation; ABC15 created Operation Safe Roads in response. PSP board member Annie Eldon and others were interviewed about Phoenix's dangerous streets.
Phoenix Seeks Input on Mobility
Phoenix's T2050 Mobility Improvements Program was established to construct new sidewalks, bicycle facilities and connections to existing transit stops to improve safety and connectivity for all roadway users. Studies are being conducted throughout the city. Check the web page to find the survey for the area(s) you bike.
Help Wanted!
Phoenix Spokes People's articles of incorporation say we're "organized for the general purpose of advocating for safer and more enjoyable bicycling in Phoenix for riders of all age and ability, and for encouraging bicycle culture through organizing rides and events." That takes time, energy and commitment. Join us

Bike Fun!

Rise & Grind
Bike buddies old and new meet on Friday mornings for a smile and cup 'o Joe. Location changes weekly.
Summer Solstice Ride
Holy Blazing Saddles, here comes the first day of summer! Join us for a sunset ride and squirt gun shenanigans June 21. We'll do a Summer Solstice Sunset photo and ride a casual 8 - 10 miles.
Bike Prom Was a Blast
If you missed our Comic (Bike) Prom in April, you missed a great party! Check out the still photos here, or the Vimeo here. Kudos to photographer Danny Upshaw.
