Faculty Grants Awarded

The Community Leaders Association provided $21,500 in grants to 11 faculty members for 12 projects such as research into autism, an entrepreneurship speaker series and a cell biology symposium. Faculty receiving grants were Gerhard Apfelthaler (Management), Chad Barber (Biology), Heidi Coronado (Graduate Education), Andrew Pattison (Management), Tim Hengst (Multimedia), Louise Kelly (Exercise Science), Antonia Ludwig (Graduate Psychology), Maura Martindale (Graduate Education), Mike Panesis (Management), Edlyn Peña (Graduate Education) and Paul Witman (Management).

Hats and High Tea

Save the date for the sixth annual Hats and High Tea to be held on Sunday, April 17, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at Cal Lutheran. The event includes entertainment, table and hat contest along with afternoon tea. All funds raised go toward education. Sponsor or register now!

Golf Tournament

Save the date for 16th annual CLA golf tournament to be held at Moorpark Country Club on Thursday, June 15. Join other community leaders for a fun-filled day and help to raise funds for student scholarships. Learn more.

William Hamm Outstanding Service Award

Congratulations to Barry Fisher, who received the 2015 Hamm Award at the Mathews Leadership Forum on Oct. 15. A Cal Lutheran alumnus, Barry has served as the Ventura County Health Care Agency’s director since March 2014 and as CLA President for two years.

Mathews Leadership Forum

On Oct. 15, business and civic leaders were joined by Cal Lutheran students, faculty and staff for networking, roundtable discussions and a panel presentation on why it matters where we spend: A Dollar Here, a Dollar There: the Difference it Makes. Learn more.
