Staying Firewise during the Summer Months

Even homes in residential areas can be in the path of damaging wildfires. If your property is surrounded by a forested area or sits at the edge of an overgrown field, you may be at a higher risk of a wildfire. Read more to learn how to stay Firewise during summer.

How Well Do You Know Your Property?

As you’re out and about on your property during the summer, take a m
inute to look around and notice the small things. What wildlife do you see in the grasses, flowers, forests and creeks around your property? Do you have birds singing outside your windows? Do you have native plants blooming? Do you have invasive plants that may be taking over the native plant habitat?  NOW is a great time to notice invasive plants as many of them have fruit and flowers that can help us with identification. Use this brochure to help identify invasive weeds on your property and contact us if you would like assistance with removal activities.
