Libby Fights for Her Life
Read below to learn how Libby survived a preventable illness.

At BTRET, we want coming into our program to be the second happiest day of any dog's life (we hope the first will be when she finds her forever home). However, this was not the case for sweet Libby, and after being rescued, she found herself fighting for her life.

We picked Liberty up from the a shelter when she was almost out of time. Libby was a happy girl, eager to meet her new foster family and see what the future would bring. However, after several days in foster, Libby wasn't feeling well. She was lethargic and weak. Her foster mom knew she needed an emergency trip to the vet.

After several tests, one thing was true -- Libby had Parvovirus that was contracted prior to her arrival at our Rescue. The cost for the vaccine is minimal -- only $20 -- compared to the cost, physically and monetarily of treating it. It's likely Libby's past family never followed up on her vaccination, so she was at risk.

Now, faced with a very sick dog, the Rescue took action. She was hospitalized and placed on IV fluids, antibiotics and pain medication. We hoped she would pull through.

Only a few days later, Libby was a much perkier girl! She was strong through her treatment and was released from the hospital. Thanks to immediate medical care, she will live.

Now, we're asking for your help. Libby's care cost more than $1,000. Can you help us raise the money to ensure her future and the other dogs at our Rescue? Every dollar counts, and with the help of you, our friends, we can guarantee their futures for years to come. You can lick here and send funds to:
