"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Hebrews 12:1

We are really excited to finally share some news of our upcoming location and project.  Thank you for being patient with us and keeping us in your prayers!

A Look into our Lives

            Enjoying Family

The month of June has been a combination of several family events.  Special times with grandkids and special times with parents.  We are so grateful for the opportunity to see loved ones and spend time with them.  Les’s Mom also had a planned surgery that required some in-home health care.  We have been able to take care of her and "love on her" like she does to everyone else.  She is recovering quickly and getting back to full strength.

Mom, Olivia, and Dad, Zachery, get away for a night before baby number three (#3) is born.  We had a chance to watch the boys and enjoy the activity.
Cute pitter-patter sounds of excited feet, along with other sounds, create a fun atmosphere.

hope it brings a smile to your face.

Our BIG Reveal (Our next assignment)

First of all, we want to thank you for your prayers and patience as we delayed in our announcement.  Although, we have a number of hurdles to jump over yet, we feel we are now close enough to reveal it.  But, first let's play a game.  Have you ever played the game of Clue?  The rules are simple, read the clues well.

            Here is your 1st clue:
We are making plans to serve in a completely new country and field.
            Here is your 2nd clue:
Within this country, which is especially dear to God's heart, we will serve with an organization called the Aliyah Return Center (ARC).
            Here is your 3rd clue:
A big part of ARC's vision is to assist returning Jews as they re-acclimatize into their homeland. (Isaiah 14:1
says, "For the  LORD will have mercy on Jason, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and
the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.)

              Here is your 4th clue:
We will be located south of the Sea of Galilee along the Jordan River.

Well, you have probably long figured out the general location by now.  Have you guessed it yet?  By God's grace, we will be serving in Israel.

Back in October of 2018, we received an email from an acquaintance seeking assistance or advice for an agricultural project.  Earlier in January 2019 of this year, we snuck in a quick exploratory trip for 10 days to get a better idea of the scope and scale of the opportunity and assist in scouting out a location to erect a  greenhouse shell.  The project would need management assistance with the possibility of teaching classes on agriculture and nutrition.

Serving in Israel takes a bit more preparation.  We would appreciate your prayers as we begin our application process which involves the following:
  1. Renewing our Passports
  2. Providing FBI Criminal Background Checks
  3. Obtaining Medical Examinations
  4. Applying for Volunteer's Visas
We will share more as details become clearer.  Please click the title ARC'S ARCHES FALLING below to watch part of our trips's involvement this past January as we worked at ARC.

Disclosed footage of our quick trip in January earlier this year.

         Spiritual Momentum:

I’m sure most of you understand the principle of momentum.  By simple definition: it’s the impetus gained by a moving object.  It’s so much a part of our lives that we don’t always recognize it.  For example, the other day I was doing some work in the garage.  I grabbed a hammer and pounded a few nails to support a small rack that would hold extension cords.  Although I had zero thought about the actual concept of momentum, there I was applying the principal as I swung the hammer to hit the nail.  The bigger the swing of the hammer, the quicker the nail was driven into the piece of wood.  I could have just rested the hammer on the nail, but with no momentum, the nail simply wouldn’t move.  Another perfect example of using the benefit of momentum is a relay race.  By allowing a runner to run through to a certain area where the new moving runner is handed the baton, both runners can capitalize on momentum to speed up the time it takes to finish the race.

This important principal often stays in the physical realm of things but has merit in our spiritual lives.  As believers, each of us likely aspires to growth in our spiritual walk.  Yet often there is an expectation for that to take place from a start/stop mentality.  We attend church once a week, or read the Bible here and there, and go a few days with zero involvement to grow ourselves spiritually, or even worse have engaged ourselves in activities or conversations that are actually detrimental to our growth.  This sort of pattern creates a non-momentum environment for growing in the Lord.  Well,…what’s the answer?  If we are always living our Christian lives from a “dead-stop”, we must try instead to begin building a “running a relay “ mentality.  While you have a morning cup of coffee, use a Bible app on your phone and listen to scripture or take advantage of a Bible plan.  This daily Bible reading can “pass the baton” to church on Sundays and a regular prayer life.  These additions to your spiritual environment can give you more strength to avoid temptation, which in turn allows more momentum to draw closer to God and be more like Him.  The overall goal is to live a life where you are more in tune with the Holy Spirit and you bring glory to God with your actions, words, and deeds.  So, why not start today and work on using spiritual momentum!!

         You've Had

We have had quite a few questions about Haiti and if we have heard anything from Haiti and the current status of on-going demonstrations?  We are in regular contact with Haitian friends, and although the political climate is unstable at best, the current situations at the Consolation Center of Haiti (CCH) and the Center of Help (CoH) are good.

Some of you have asked about future giving to Haiti.  We are grateful you have a heart to help financially with the different projects in Haiti and have used Laborers With Christ (LWC) to send money to Haiti.  Please feel free to continue sending your gifts earmarked for the specific projects, and we’ll get those to the right places.  We know how big of a blessing those gifts are to the respective areas.  If there is a change in the future, LWC will make sure to contact you personally and give you the necessary information to ensure the gifts are getting where you want them.

            Positive Student Impact

Recently, we received a couple of pictures via Facebook from Nigeria.  We have seen and experienced first-hand the value of hands-on training and the positive impact that takes place when it’s implemented, particularly at schools.  It’s a big deal to impower students with learning agricultural and to furnish a tomato plant for them to take home.  Especially in a country where it’s difficult to find seeds.  This is a great example of what Laborers With Christ (LWC) does with the seeds that we receive through the Seeds of Faith program.  We are very grateful for the seed that you donate.  We also are very thankful to the staff in Nigeria that works tirelessly to promote God, agriculture, and health.
