To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;...A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, 6

3,893.59 miles have been traveled since our return to the U.S. on May 8th.  Our home is the road as you will see.  From Iowa > Kentucky > Missouri > Iowa > Missouri > Iowa > Indiana > Michigan, and back to Iowa.  Our travels are not finished yet; but we are in Iowa to stay long enough to begin preparing our home for rental condition.  (Clicking on Kentucky will take you to our LWC Missionary Moments channel.  You will be able to update yourself on a couple of fun family events.)

These travels have allowed us to attend the birth of our 6th grandchild-Micah, participate in a 60th Wedding Anniversary for Catherine's parents, speaking engagements, be present at a grandchild's birthday, a weekend to visit our son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan & Mandie, our newly weds, and sneak away for a special little get-a-way gift for a day to Sight and Sound Theatre in Branson, MO.  In today's world, it is refreshing to be able to have wholesome, Christian entertainment available. Thank you to those who gave towards this and made this possible.

A Look into our Lives

A 60th Diamond Wedding Anniversary Celebration

We had the privilege to participate in Catherine's parents 60th Wedding Anniversary.  Dad and Mom Kennedy renewed their vows in the same church that we were married.  34 years ago Dad Kennedy officiated our wedding, and Les had the privilege to officiate their 60th.

Catherine and her siblings put together a very nice program and even had a printed order of service.

We enjoyed hearing them renew their vows, singing a couple of fitting hymns, communion was given (a very important and requested thing for both but especially in Dad's life right now), and we all enjoyed a little jig to their special song at the end called Catch A Falling Star.  A lunch reception was held at a favorite restaurant and the celebration ended with cake and ice-cream just before we headed back, a three hour drive to Catherine's other brother's place in Jefferson City.

We all had a GREAT and SPECIAL time together celebrating two very special people in our lives.

      All That Stuff

In between all of our travels, we hope to make a huge dent in downsizing.  We began slowly downsizing about a year ago, but being home for this year's Alta "junk days" has given us a huge boost in allowing us to get rid of a lot of "stuff".

Now we are preparing the house for a possible rental stage.  We would appreciate your prayers as we designate some time and energy to get things completed.

Nigeria Update

          FA Locations

          Map shows balloons marking all
FAAGRIC (FA-Faith Agruclutre) locations in Nigeria. The balloon with white and red marks the very first location in the upper right corner.

Laborers With Christ, through the Faith Agriculture, has added another Local Government Area (LGA) from Imo State in Nigeria to its list of places that will have Learning Centers.  This is the second location in Imo state, and we are grateful to be collaborating with a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) called Global Peace Mission (GPM).   Rev Armstrong was involved in an inauguration service at Mgbidi (see yellow star on map), which is Oru-West L.G.A. Global Peace Mission is covering the cost of transportation for Rev Armstrong to travel to the location where the training will take place.  We are very grateful to GPM, and the indigenous aspect of this relationship.  We have always desired a greater level of financial sponsorship from within the country of Nigeria.

One thing that is very difficult for Nigerians to purchase in country is garden variety seeds.  Rev Armstrong has requested seeds for distribution as FAAGRIC starts the new Learning Center.  This is a great form of encouragement and helps the new students to see practical ways of FAAGRIC’s commitment to their success.

One Starfish at a Time

         Dieunika Pascal:

Although almost everyone knows her as Pascal, her first name is Dieunika.  The reason she is called Pascal, is with three other girls at the Consolation Center of Haiti (CCH) already with names of Dieunika, Dieunie, and Dieuna, it was determined it would be much easier and create less confusion to call her by her last name.  So, Pascal it is.  This decision is not very strange in Haiti, as it is very common to call a person by either there first or last name.  We have worked with people for years and found out that the whole time what we thought are their given first names turned out to be their last name.

Pascal is the daughter of Kada, who has worked at CCH as a House Monitor for several years.  Kada is currently serving in a capacity of a supervisor over all the House Monitors working with the girls.

Pascal is 9 years old, and she is enjoys helping visiting teams and lending a hand when possible.  She is very social and usually finds a new friend whenever a new team arrives. She is also “picking up” quite a bit of English due to this regular interaction with team members.  We are grateful for her heart to serve and her desire to please those around her. We ask you continue to pray for Pascal as God causes future growth and continues to draw her closer to Him.
