Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it
not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and
was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient
unto death, even the death of the cross.

Philippians 2:5-6

A Look into our Lives

     Blessings In The Air

This last Month we had a very special meet up with the ministry called Agape Flights (AF).  AF is an important state-side connection for missionaries.  Due to the lack of a postal system in Haiti, AF's founders, a husband and wife team that visited Haiti missionaries years ago, pursued a vision to start an aviation ministry to partner with and serve missionaries serving in the love of Jesus Christ in the Caribbean.  This aviation ministry has truly been a blessing to us, and we can share from our experience in Africa, that to have an opportunity to receive regular supplies or care packages, for us or the people we work with is a tremendous blessing. AF is usually in Les Cayes two - three times a month.

So, if you ever desire to send us a care package or want to send something to the boys and girls, just get a hold of us and we can walk you through a very simple process.  We also encourage you to visit Agape Flights website, and pray for them, and pray how you might be a blessing to them as well.  You can visit them at this link :http://www.agapeflights.com/

Thank you Agape.  You are a blessing!

Nigeria Update

     NIGERIA

We have been in touch with our friends in Nigeria about our developing, upcoming trip to visit, and they are as excited as we are.  A letter of invitation is now being drawn up for us, Les, Catherine, and Josiah, our oldest son.  Yes, you read that right.  Josiah is going! This adds even more excitement to the plans.  The travel plans are for sometime in the month of June.  We will share more as time approaches.

The Visa Process

On our end of the Visa application process looks like this.  Each time we apply the process changes.  The Visa payment process is currently all on line.

We ask for your continued prayers regarding this trip.  We hope to take Heirloom & Hybrid seeds along with us, so now would be a good time to be collecting those seeds.  You can see the seeds to collect listed below in our Seeds of Faith segment below.

Nudging's

                 HAPPY
          RESURRECTION
                SUNDAY!

We wish you and your family a very special Easter.  May you draw close to the resurrected Savior and reflect upon the glorious work He did for you, both for now and for the future!!

There is no greater point of celebration for Christians than resurrection Sunday. The when, why, and how of Jesus’s trial, suffering, and death on the cross, gives us a vivid and tangible understanding of His love for us.  There are so many things that Jesus did, both spiritually and physically from Friday through Sunday, and while many reflect upon this time as a historical event that took place for all mankind, which is in fact correct, we want to go in a little different direction.  The Easter story is one of unconditional love.  I think most of us are aware of Jesus’s willingness to lay down His life.  It was all part of a prophesied plan that had been communicated centuries earlier through the Holy prophets.  He body was broken, and His blood was shed to become a perfect substitute for an imperfect humanity.  Jesus became a living sacrifice to satisfy a debt…our debt of sin.

The amazing thing to us is that the love displayed for all to see, did not stop at the culmination of His resurrection.  What we mean is, yes, this happened in the past, but the unconditional love part still reaches forward to the present day.  Jesus Christ continues to care, continues to love, continues to desire us to know the Heavenly Father as He does.  When Jesus said, “It is finished”, he was talking about the work He needed to do to satisfy the Father.  His love, however, goes on and on.  He loves you just as much now as when he took on the form of man mentioned in Philippians 2:5-8 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

As you’re celebrating Resurrection Sunday, reflect upon this truth.  Rejoice that you serve a risen Savior who is alive and well, and who loves you more than you’ll ever be able to comprehend.

In closing we have attached a link to a song on YouTube that we have enjoyed as we reflect upon His love: You Make Me Brave

Seeds of Faith – giving a gift that grows

Sowing Seeds is at an all time high!

Twelve years ago, on May 15, 2006, FAAGRIC launched its program in Nigeria.  May 30, 2007, we introduced our Seeds of Faith Project.  Year after year we have been so blessed with your generosity and effort to collect seeds this time every spring.

Haitian agronomists are happy with the US seed, which seems to do better than what they currently have available.  Here is a useful list of seeds you can help us with both in Haiti and Nigeria.

For those who still have the Seeds of Faith baskets, now is a good time to dust them off and use them as a reminder to build continued awareness of this very important gift that is vital in our Nigeria and Haiti FAAGRIC programs that continue to grow.

In Nigeria, the need for seeds is used to teach the ever growing FAAGRIC centers through our faithful instructors, Rev. Armstrong and Sunday Okorie, and all the seed sower students.  The seeds are important because they are not able to obtain them in Nigeria.  FAAGRIC now has a presence in the market place where students and families can earn an income.  Thank you so much for sowing into the health and well-being of others whose future is less fortunate.

In Haiti, the seeds are a blessing for the orphans, the produce is served in the CCH cafeteria, and hopefully soon a store front where the community can buy the produce.  Here are some pictures of the bountiful CCH Garden.  Doesn't it look beautiful?  The agronoms are doing a great job!

Please send the seeds to:

One Starfish at a time

           A visit from Dad:

It is no surprise that the majority of kids who are in orphanages in Haiti often have at least one parent that is living.  We often use the terminology that the kids aren’t true orphans, but they are orphans none-the-less.  Having a living parent doesn’t really mean that much if the child was found living in the street and their “parent’” was not exercising any parental responsibilities. Or if the child is in a restavec (domestic slavery) environment and again the “parent” has no concern of that child.

However, there are situations where the parent/parents just don’t have the necessary resources to care for their child/children, and they are at their wit’s end to find a place that can help. The Consolation Center has several boys and girls who fit in that category.  It’s always special to have a visitor arrive who is a parent of one of the kids we have grown to know and love as we have lived here over the years.  Recently we saw a man sitting with some girls, and upon further investigation it turned out to be the father with three of the four sisters who have lived first at the James 1:27 Center and now stay at the girl’s orphanage. What a joy it was to see the girls interacting with their father, and to know he cared enough to come and visit.  There are lots of sad stories and broken relationships in the wake of Haiti’s poverty; but occasionally, we see positive examples of love and care despite the hardship and struggle to survive.  It was a huge deal for Cedeniese, Juslain, and Emani, his daughters.  The picture above is from left to right, Juslain, Dad, Emani, Cedeniese, and brother.

Please continue to pray for the Cesar family!

       It's Gone Viral

We have a tie for 7th place in the TOP Ten.
Flu season is leaving its mark as one of the deadliest flu seasons in 13 years.
The flu is linked to between 3,000 and 49,000 deaths and 200,000 hospitalizations each year in the United States. The hospitalization rate for the 2017-2018 season is currently at 51.4 per 100,000.

Deaths from influenza and pneumonia are closely tied to each other in the winter months and are responsible for 1 of every 10 deaths, according to Fortune.com, posted February 10, 2018.  The Influenza outbreak is at its worst and the death toll is expected to top 56,000 people.  How we CAN live that best life now?  Click here to learn more.
