<<Salutation>>

We are thankful to the Lord for our time back in the U.S.  It’s been a time of leaning on Him as we had to rearrange our priorities and schedule.  Thanks to so many who contacted us or asked about Catherine and how she has been doing through all of her difficulties.  We are grateful for all of your prayers and concern.

A Look into our Lives

          On the Home Front:

We had the wonderful blessing of having the entire family together.  Josiah, who we didn't think would make it, was able to be home for Christmas and through the new year.  This is the most recent picture of our tribe,  We do praise the Lord for the chance to spend some quality time as family; and we are very grateful for the blessings He has showered on us in 2015.
We wish you and your family a
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

          A word from Catherine:

I have a Mercury free mouth!!! PTL!! My second visit did not present any surprises either.  PTL!! Stage one of my treatment complete!! PTL!!
My healing continues to be in the area of over sensitive teeth thought to be due to clenching my teeth in my sleep.  I await my clear *Comfort H/S (Hard/Soft) Bite Splint night guard.  With this night guard, it is my prayer that this will help with the sensitivity of my teeth giving them a time to relax during the night and heal the aggravated teeth and lessen the TMJ even more. My front teeth continue to be the most vulnerable due to my overbite, and they become very irritated when chewing most foods.  Please pray that the night guard comes before we head to Haiti this Saturday.
I have felt a bit alone in my situation, but learned that one-third of the U.S. population either bruxes or clenches their teeth, which results in tooth damage and TMJ issues.
Please pray that the Lord is able to minister peace to my heart to take away the stresses that I seem to express during the night.  While I use the Comfort H/S (Hard/Soft) night guard, please pray that I would relax in the *Comfort H/S (of the Holy Spirit).  Please pray for continued patience to deal with the issues of eating blended foods to allow this healing to take place more quickly.

         Calendar:

Catherine has been creating the 2016 calendar.  This years calendar will include the James babies and Joshua boys.  You will also find sentences in Creole and English that pertain to some common phrases and greetings used in Haiti.  We will be making these available in the near future, so keep your eyes and ears open for its arrival.

One Starfish at a Time

Bernadin Charles:

Bernadin's story is another story of the faithfulness of God in the midst of some very difficult circumstances.  Currently Bernadin's father, Charles, is  employed as a staff member at the James 1:27 Center.  He has been living and working in the proximity of CCH for almost the last three years.  Bernadin has three sisters that live at CCH, and a younger brother who, like himself, lived with their father until the addition of the boy's orphanage called the Joshua House.

In March of 2013, Bernadin and his siblings lost their mother to a sickness, and then watch their father be blamed by their mother's family for her death, because Charles refused to take his wife to the local voodoo witch doctor.  The final action by Charles's in-laws was to set all the family belongings outside the home they shared with the in-laws, and notified they were no longer welcome.  This family of six had no where to go.  Through some rather amazing circumstances, the family found a home at CCH.  This past March Bernadin and his older sister Charline were baptist.  Charles stood in the background and watched in his quiet way and remarked, "God has done His work".  Praise the Lord for the ways in which He mysteriously works on behalf of those He loves!

Zachery & Olivia's Update

Every New Year is special because it marks the start of a new set of goals, desires, prayers, and events. 2015 was an exciting year for us–first an engagement, then a wedding, and then full time ministry. 2016 is already proving to be quite the year for us--why? Because we're having a baby! Baby DeRoos is due in July (4th of July actually) and we couldn’t be more excited! So far we’ve already had one sonogram and got to see the little bean and got to hear the heartbeat. This summer will be busy for us to say the least, but so far the plan is to return to Haiti in a few days and then come back to the U.S. for the delivery. Please keep us in prayer over the next few months!

As always, we encourage you to stay in touch on our blog to receive updates and photos ourpointofview.org
