IBAC: UPDATE
Keeping Business Flying Around The World
For The Industry, By The Industry

MARCH 2020

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR GENERAL

Kurt Edwards

Watching the spread of COVID-19 around the world is causing concern, particularly in the aviation industry.  IBAC has become a partner in CAPSCA (Collaborative Arrangement for the Prevention and Management of Public Health Events in Civil Aviation), anchored by several United Nations agencies, including ICAO and WHO, which shares up-to-date information on the spread of epidemics from global experts and industry entities.  The CAPSCA page on COVID-19 can be found here for your direct reference.  IBAC will also push out to its members updated information as it comes available.

In addition to the CAPSCA site, ICAO has also launched its own web page on COVID-19.  It is focused on civil aviation and provides targeted resources and information for use by operators, airports, and passengers.

We encourage use of both Web sites as part of your risk-assessment and -mitigation processes.

The Summit will be aimed at investigating how best and how quickly the production, supply, demand and use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) can be accelerated through panels featuring key stakeholders in the industry, including IBAC Director General, Kurt Edwards, who will be contributing to a panel to discuss long-term solutions from the regulator and stakeholder perspective. Registration is required and can be accessed HERE - space is limited.
  • The EU SAF Roundtable was held 3rd March 2020. Business aviation was represented through GAMA and EBAA’s participation. The Roundtable was held to discuss the measures the EU could take to boost the production and supply of SAF. We will have a full update in the next IBAC Update.
  • A reminder to the Member Associations that the print version of SAF FAQ trifold files are available in seven languages with the ability to insert the association’s logo and print at your location. As a sustainable option, we also have a digital version to post on websites.  Please contact the IBAC communications team for details at comms@ibac.org
