Ideas for fundraising.

If you are concerned about your event - please let me know, I am here to support you in all you do to raise money for Children in Need.

It is really important that we keep in touch.

Online raffles - these are a great way to raise funds that would have otherwise been collected at supermarkets or street collections.

Online fun runs/rambles - your supporters can raise their own funds and your Rotary club can assist with coordination - it's a win-win!

COVID-secure school visits - these are able to go ahead only by adhering to strict guidance from the government, BBC Children in Need and Rotary.  That said, the feedback we have received so far has been very positive and schools say that this will make the children feel more normal.  Get in touch regarding school visits for the full guidance.

Take contactless donations - we have access to a few goodboxes which allow you to take donations of £3 with the tap of a card or phone.  Please let me know if you can make good use of one.

Text-to-donate - we have been given a short text number so regular supporters of our activities can still support Children in Need through our unique number.  TBC.

Donate Online - BBC Children in Need have created a bespoke website for Rotary supporters to donate online.  We should send our friends the link to help Rotary to raise as much for CiN as possible.  Details TBC.

Merchandise

Merchandise is being delivered, some clubs have already received their orders.

If you are delivering merchandise to schools or businesses, please keep the boxes sealed (Ears come in boxes of 20 and there are 4 boxes to an outer, so you can split them into 4s) to avoid further quarantine time.

Tracking Historic Donations

I am collating all the donations Rotary has made over the years to CiN.

It is Children in Need's 40th anniversary this year, and I would like to demonstrate how much money Rotary has raised over that period.

Please send me your totals for each year going back as far as you can!

 Map of Clubs

I am adding Rotary clubs that raise money for CiN to an interactive map, which I hope will help target areas where we could do more and also celebrate areas where there is a lot going on!

The map is a living record (not finished) so if your club isn't on it, tell me now, and it soon will be.

Paying In Money to Children in Need

Please use your Club name as the reference when paying in.

I need to receive a photo or scan of the paying-in slip from each deposit.
Your total will not be added to the website until I receive it.

Here is an example of the paying-in slip for HSBC which must be used:

Any clubs organising activities near Swindon or Belfast?

I have had direct contact from two very keen volunteers who would like to take part in any fundraising activities being held by Rotary in the Belfast or Swindon area.

If you know of anything they can get involved with, please let me know ASAP.

 District Coordinators

I am looking for one person from each District to take on local coordination of BBC Children in Need activities for 2020-21.

I hope this will help clubs get involved as they will have someone local to talk to who knows the area.  Initially, I will make this a 3 year appointment so no-one feels they are locked in forever, and also gives others who would like to get more involved the opportunity to do more.

Please email me if you would like to know more about being the District coordinator for your district.  Thank you to those who have taken this on for the first time this year, it makes a huge difference and will help us raise the bar each year!

District 1090 - Annie - 1090@rotarycin.co.uk
District 1100 - Neil - 1100@rotarycin.uk
