Merchandise 2020 has landed!!

I am very excited to announce a new order form for merchandise this year!

Please follow this link to get to the form.  Please only fill in once per club.

All merchandise is donated by Children in Need so do not worry about having to sell enough merchandise to cover costs.

Total... so far...

I am very excited to announce that the total raised by Rotary clubs for BBC Children in Need from 1st July 2019 to date is...

£167,775.55

I want to thank everyone involved in every club and in every activity for your outstanding efforts which have achieved a record total this year - Thank you!

If you haven't done so already, please pay in the money to the bank details below.

This figure is over £25,000 up on last year and there are still clubs to report their final totals, so please don't publish this figure until all the totals are in.

Certificates

Children in Need would like to send personalised thank you certificates to all clubs.  If your club has not received one yet, please email me with your Club, Name, and address so I can organise this.

Coronavirus (what else?)

I am now confined to my home office like many others across the country.  I have adopted Zoom online conferencing software as my communication device to replace face-to-face meetings.  In fact, my Rotary club is using it on a weekly basis to continue to meet up.

If you are doing the same, I would be delighted to join your club one week to give everyone the low down on Rotary's partnership with BBC Children in Need.

Photos, Tweets and Facebook posts

Of the 57 clubs involved in raising money for Children in Need last year (2018/19):

45 sent me photos for the website;
28 tweeted about it;
26 posted on facebook about it.

If your club has done something this year (2019/20) it is not too late to send me photos, send a message on twitter or post on facebook.

Tracking Historic Donations

I am collating all the donations Rotary has made over the years to CiN.

It is Children in Need's 40th anniversary this year, and I would like to demonstrate how much money Rotary has raised over that period.

Please send me your totals for each year going back as far as you can!

I have heard from 5 clubs so far that have given me historic figures totalling over £100,000 between 1997 and 2011...

Ilfracombe Compass

Ilfracombe Compass Rotary organised a collection at their local supermarket, where they also raffled a Giant Pudsey Bear.  They raised £1700.

Map of Clubs

I am adding clubs that raise money for CiN to an interactive map, which I hope will help target areas where we could do more and also celebrate areas where there is a lot going on!

The map is a living record (not finished) so if your club isn't on it, don't worry, it will be!

Any clubs organising activities near Swindon or Belfast?

I have had direct contact from two very keen volunteers who would like to take part in any fundraising activities being held by Rotary in the Belfast or Swindon area.

If you know of anything they can get involved with, please let me know ASAP.

District Coordinators

I am looking for one person from each District to take on local coordination of BBC Children in Need activities for 2020-21.

I hope this will help clubs get involved as they will have someone local to talk to who knows the area.  Initially, I will make this a 3 year appointment so no-one feels they are locked in forever, and also gives others who would like to get more involved the opportunity to do more.

Please email me if you would like to know more about being the District coordinator for your district.  Thank you to those who have taken this on for the first time this year, it makes a huge difference and will help us raise the bar each year!

District 1090 - Annie Roy-Barker - 1090@rotarycin.co.uk
